Our Atlanta office provides a wide variety of legal services to McGuireWoods’ local, national and international clients and is reflective of Atlanta’s place as the business capital of the southeastern United States and a global business hub.
Atlanta is one of the firm’s strongholds in the areas of intellectual property litigation, complex business litigation, debt finance, healthcare, food and beverage safety and recalls, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, private equity, restructuring and insolvency, labor and employment, franchising, and lotteries.
The debt finance team handles a wide variety of complex credit transactions for some of the largest financial institutions in the United States. In addition, our ANDA litigation team has been at the forefront of the law and litigation regarding generic pharmaceuticals. We possess skilled practitioners with deep experience in all facets of the food and beverage industry, including food safety and recalls, distribution and logistics, and franchising. Our lawyers have also been instrumental in starting and working with multiple state lotteries, as well as with vendors that serve that industry. The labor and employment team counsels employers in all facets of employee relations, including negotiating and drafting employment agreements, and represents and advises management in traditional labor, federal and state employment discrimination, and covenant not to compete and trade secrets matters.
In addition, McGuireWoods Consulting’s Atlanta office provides access to all disciplines within our public affairs subsidiary, including lobbying/governmental affairs, economic development, public-private partnerships and communications/grassroots.
The Atlanta lawyers, consultants and staff are also extremely committed to giving back to their community and handling pro bono work. We have established deep partnerships with the American Red Cross’s Metropolitan Atlanta Chapter, the Red Cross’s Southern Blood Services Region (including participating in the Atlanta LifeBoard), Crossroads Community Ministries, the National Kidney Foundation, the March of Dimes’ Georgia Chapter, 21st Century Leaders, and the USO.
