U.S.A. - Texas
The Houston office was opened in 2011 to enhance our ability to serve Texas-based clients, national or international clients and other entities with local or regional interests. We expanded the firm’s Texas presence through a merger with Nickens Keeton Lawless Farrell & Flack LLP. McGuireWoods now has offices in Houston, Dallas and Austin — a combination collectively representing more than 160 years’ experience.
From this Texas base, we represent some of the leading energy companies in the world. Each of our energy attorneys have more than 20 years of experience representing national and international clients in a variety of business matters. They have experience in a wide range of corporate and securities matters, with a particular focus on the energy and technology industries, including mergers and acquisitions of public and private entities. Our team also represents developers, contractors, owners, and financiers of power plants and other energy production facilities. We also have a depth of experience in handling transactional energy infrastructure matters.
The Houston office also concentrates in business and securities litigation and represents a number of Fortune 500 companies and their officers, directors and special litigation committees in derivative and class action lawsuits. Examples include representing investment professionals and others in criminal investigations, and high-profile executives in state and federal lawsuits and congressional, regulatory, and criminal investigations. Our Houston team continues to expand representation of other industries, including labor and employment and IP litigation and patents.
In alignment with McGuireWoods’ core value of service, Houston lawyers and staff are committed to giving back to the community through pro bono work, board leadership, volunteering, sponsorships and fundraising. Local examples include volunteering for the Ronald McDonald House and Child Advocates.
