Opened: 2005 In response to our clients expanding needs in the region, McGuireWoods opened its Los Angeles office in 2005. Our growing California presence adds West Coast depth to our firms practice and serves as a major portal for international transactions. The Los Angeles office provides a full range of service covering all major practice areas, with particular depth in real estate, corporate transactions, debt finance, labor and employment, and complex commercial litigation. Our real estate team continues to expand its reputation for its highly skilled attorneys practicing within the wireless communications industry and handling major development projects. Our Los Angeles labor and employment and commercial litigation lawyers have unique experience handling complex class actions in a variety of industries. Their combined experience includes wage and hour class actions and class action defense for financial institutions, large national franchisors and telecommunications entities. Our debt finance team represents major lenders in syndicated and other complex lending transactions, and our corporate group handles venture-finance and strategic and private-equity-backed mergers and acquisitions. The diversity of our office reflects the diversity of the Los Angeles community. Our lawyers and staff take active roles in serving as leaders, board members and volunteers for many community organizations, and participate in government, corporate and nonprofit events. Many hold leadership positions in these organizations, including National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, California Lawyers for the Arts, Film Collaborative, Financial Lawyers Conference of California, Japanese American Bar Association, National Asian Pacific American Bar Association and Women Lawyers Alliance. We also take great pride in our commitment to pro bono and other community service. We routinely provide pro bono legal services and support for a number of organizations and causes, including Public Counsel, National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, California Lawyers for the Arts, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Downtown Womens Center, People Assisting the Homeless, Alliance for Childrens Rights, Make a Wish Foundation, American Diabetes Association, SHAWL, and Pasadena Child Development Associates.
